San Diego, CA (July 22, 2024) – A 44-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car on Monday, July 22, in Lemon Grove, and authorities are investigating the incident as of Monday evening.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies received calls at 2:15 a.m. Monday for a hit and run in the 8200 block of Broadway in Lemon Grove. When they arrived, deputies found a 44-year-old man lying in the center lane in the 8300 block of Broadway. The sheriff’s office says the victim was conscious and breathing when deputies arrived and reports he was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived. No additional details were immediately made available, but anyone with information regarding the collision was asked to contact SDPD Collision Investigation Detail Detectives.
