San Diego, CA – Driver Hit By Debris, Hospitalized in Accident on 10 Fwy

San Diego, CA (February 21, 2025) – San Diego Police Department (SDPD) officers say that a large piece of concrete crashed through the windshield of a pickup truck as the driver was traveling near an overpass on the 10 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles overnight.

The incident happened shortly before midnight on February 18, as the motorist was headed westbound on the freeway near Normandie Avenue. Video from the scene showed the concrete slab next to a pair of glasses on the floorboard inside the cab of the pickup truck.

The driver managed to pull off the freeway before being taken to a local hospital in unknown condition. Investigators are still working to determine if the concrete was thrown from the overpass or if it somehow came loose during a crash. However, per officials, the investigation continues, and no further details were released. We wish a rapid recovery to all the injured individuals.
