San Diego, CA (March 6, 2024) – A fatal crash closed multiple lanes of northbound Interstate 15 near San Diego’s Tierrasanta neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol logs.
The collision was reported just after 1:45 p.m. between Friars Road and Aero Drive exits. According to the logs, a pedestrian was reportedly walking in the second lane of the freeway when a car struck them. CHP said a hard closure to four of five lanes on I-15 through the area was in place for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene. Caltrans said in a post on that all lanes had been reopened to traffic by 5:45 p.m., but no further details about the crash were immediately available.
