Oceanside, CA (August 13, 2024) – Two people were injured on Tuesday morning, August 13, after a car crashed into a police vehicle in Oceanside, authorities say.
According to a Tuesday release from the police department, officers with the Oceanside Police Department responded to calls of a major injury collision involving a Toyota passenger sedan and a police cruiser at the intersection of Mission Avenue and Roymar Road around 9:15 a.m. Police say a Toyota driver was transported to Scripps La Jolla with moderate injuries and is expected to survive.
The officer who was driving the police vehicle was released after being treated at Tri-City Medical Center for minor injuries. It is unknown whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the crash, according to the police department, though an investigation is still ongoing. We hope all injured victims recover quickly.
