Los Angeles, CA (September 30, 2023) – A car crashed on the 57 Freeway at midnight on Saturday before landing in a dirt area close to Temple Avenue, prompting the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department to respond.
Initial reports indicated that one adult and one child were sent to Pomona Valley Hospital. A report from LACoFD immediately after the incident indicated the child’s condition was serious.
Later on Saturday, authorities stated that the 12-year-old child had died at the hospital and that a man had been detained for driving under the influence.
Troopers with the California Highway Patrol are looking for witnesses to contact them in the interim.
