San Diego, CA (November 4, 2024) – A driver struck a 1-year-old child in Valley Center and then drove off on November 4, though deputies located a vehicle believed to be involved a short time later, a sheriff’s official said. The incident was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Morningstar Road, which is on the Rincon reservation.
Details of what led up to the collision were not immediately available. The child was transported to a hospital to be treated. It was not immediately known if the child was male or female, and the extent of their injuries was not released. A vehicle believed to have been involved in the collision was located on state Route 76 near Pauma Valley Drive, about 10 miles away.
