Los Angeles, CA – Woman Killed in Vehicle Crash on I-405 at Wilshire Blvd

Los Angeles, CA (February 7, 2025) – A woman and a dog were killed, and multiple other people were injured during a multi-car crash on the 405 Freeway near Westwood on Friday.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), it happened on northbound lanes near Wilshire Boulevard at around 6:45 p.m.  Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, where they said one person was trapped inside a car and needed rescuing, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. They say that one person, only identified as a 72-year-old woman, and a dog died in the crash.

Three others were injured, two of which were said to be in critical condition, firefighters said. The third person, a 60-year-old female, is in fair condition. As a result of the crash, a SigAlert was issued for three lanes on the northbound side of the freeway until just after 10:30 p.m., CHP officers said. No further information was immediately available; however, an investigation is still ongoing at this time. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased victim.
