San Diego, CA (February 20, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in San Diego’s East County, authorities said early Wednesday morning, February 19.
Officers responded to a report of a man lying in the roadway at 1:55 a.m. Wednesday on the onramp from Second Street to westbound Interstate 8 in El Cajon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The unidentified man was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital with major trauma injury consistent with being struck by a vehicle, the CHP said. He was later pronounced dead. An investigation is ongoing in the interim.
