San Diego, CA – Woman Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Mission Gorge Rd

San Diego, CA (October 30, 2024) – Officers with the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) are investigating after a 19-year-old pedestrian in Allied Gardens was seriously injured Sunday when she was hit by a car.

The collision occurred just after 8:00 p.m. in the area of 7300 Mission Gorge Road. The young woman was running northbound on Mission Gorge when she was hit by a westbound Toyota Highlander, SDPD said. The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the collision that required surgery. The driver of the Highlander, a 34-year-old man, did not report any injuries.

Authorities report that the driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted by Traffic Division officers. No further details were provided to the public in the interim, and officers asked any witnesses to get in touch.
