San Diego, CA (July 9, 2024) – A car plowed through a City Heights 7-Eleven store on Tuesday, July 9, taking down the front door and narrowly missing the checkout counter.
According to San Diego Police, the incident occurred on University Avenue, near Fairmount Avenue. Police said a family was inside the gray Nissan Rogue that went through the storefront at around 4:45 a.m. Police called the crash an accident, and they said drugs or alcohol were not considered to be a factor in the collision.
However, EMTs assessed a handful of victims at the scene, including a person standing in the area at the time of the incident. That said, no further details were made available about how many people were hospitalized, and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
