Los Angeles, CA (December 31, 2023) – On Saturday night, an SUV in Sun Valley rolled over after a crash that occurred on the I-5 Golden State Freeway, killing one woman and resulting in injuries to several others.
Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were notified of the incident on Saturday at around 6:00 p.m., which occurred on the Penrose Street on-ramp to the southbound Golden State Freeway. According to the CHP’s record, the witness said that the overturned car was engulfed in flames and that one person was attempting to escape from it. Per CHP Officer Sean Lough, a woman was killed, and EMTs were assessing others for injuries. The total number of drivers and injuries involved remains unknown, however. An investigation is still ongoing.
