Los Angeles, CA (January 20, 2024) – Officers with the Azusa Police Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a traffic collision around 9:50 p.m. involving a pedestrian at South Irwindale Avenue and West Paramount Street.
By the time first responders arrived at the location, the pedestrian had succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. Authorities also said that the driver who struck the pedestrian had fled the scene. Azusa PD had both north and southbound lanes closed as they investigated the fatal hit-and-run collision. Irwindale PD was also on the scene and assisting Azusa PD with traffic, though the inquiry into the wreck remains ongoing.
