Irvine, CA (February 12, 2025) – A driver was killed in a wrong-way crash in Orange County on Monday, according to area authorities. Irvine police responded to the crash near Jamboree Road, south of Warner Avenue in Irvine, at around 1:35 a.m.
A driver in a Hyundai Elantra was traveling the wrong way on the northbound lanes of Jamboree Road when they crashed head-on with an oncoming vehicle. At least one of the motorists was pronounced dead at the site, but it’s unclear if anybody else was hurt. The events leading up to the deadly collision remain unclear. Police did not reveal whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision.
