Lakeside, CA (May 22, 2026) – Two drivers died Thursday morning, May 21, after a Toyota RAV4 traveling east on I-8 near Lake Jennings Park Road crossed the center median and drove into oncoming traffic around 11 a.m. The RAV4 struck a westbound Honda Accord head-on.
The Toyota’s driver, a 24-year-old man from El Cajon, died at the scene. The Honda’s driver, a 43-year-old man from El Cajon, died at a hospital.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
