San Diego, CA (November 29, 2024) – Authorities announced on Friday that a 72-year-old woman sustained a skull fracture as a result of a head-on collision on Thursday evening, November 28, in the Scripps Ranch region of San Diego.
Officer J. Perales of the San Diego Police Department reported that the collision took place in the 10000 block of Aviary Drive at about 6:50 p.m. on Thursday. According to Perales, an 83-year-old woman was operating a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 north on Scripps Ranch Boulevard when she abruptly transitioned from the southbound lane onto Aviary Drive, colliding head-on with a 2014 Nissan Maxima being operated by a 50-year-old man.
A woman, riding as a passenger in the Maxima, was then transported to a hospital for treatment via ambulance. However, it’s unclear if the drivers were injured. Alcohol did not contribute to the accident, but no further details were released in the meantime. Witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible.
