San Diego, CA (February 28, 2025) – Authorities said that a pedestrian was critically injured on Thursday evening, February 27, following a collision with a vehicle in Mission Valley.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Friars Road and Frazee Road. A 35-year-old woman reportedly entered the roadway from the southeast corner of the intersection. At that same time, a 19-year-old man driving a 2023 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound in the 7600 block of Friars Road when he struck the woman.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Per authorities, she suffered a lacerated spleen and a fractured leg. SDPD’s Traffic Division will be handling the investigation. Police determined that alcohol was not a factor in this incident.
