San Diego, CA (June 24, 2025) – A wrong-way driver caused a traffic collision on Interstate 15 South in San Diego on Saturday afternoon, June 21, police report.
At least two vehicles were involved in a crash when a BMW SUV was reportedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 15 South in the HOV lane, closing several lanes of traffic just after 3:00 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP reports a vehicle swerved out of the way of the BMW, which then hit another SUV while driving north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near the 52 highway interchange.
CHP also reported that at least one person was taken to the hospital following the collision. An investigation is still ongoing in the interim. Witnesses were asked to come forward in the meantime. We wish a rapid recovery to all the injured individuals.
