San Diego, CA (August 30, 2024) – A pedestrian sustained what authorities determined to be life-threatening injuries after a hit-and-run collision on Thursday morning, August 29, San Diego Police said.
According to SDPD, a 57-year-old woman was walking northbound in a marked crosswalk on Euclid Avenue at Federal Boulevard around 6:10 a.m. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was headed westbound on Federal Boulevard and made a right turn onto northbound Euclid Avenue, police said.
While making the right turn, the vehicle struck the woman before leaving the scene, according to police. The impact left the woman with a pelvic fracture and brain bleed, which were determined to be life-threatening, authorities said. Currently, no details about the suspect vehicle or driver are available. SDPD’s traffic division is investigating the incident. We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim.
