San Diego, CA (October 25, 2024) – A man in his 60s was killed on Wednesday, October 23, when he was struck by a pickup as he crossed a Vista street, a sheriff’s deputy said.
The incident happened just after 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Vista Street and Townsite Drive, Deputy Jennifer Albright said in a news release. The man was walking in a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2024 Dodge Ram 1500. The driver, a woman in her 30s, stopped and cooperated with investigators.
The deputy said alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash for either the pickup driver or the man who was struck. Albright asked that anyone with information regarding the incident call the sheriff’s office. We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim.
