San Diego, CA (September 9, 2024) – Multiple people were sent to the hospital on Sunday morning, September 8, after a head-on collision in East County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of 1601 Mirage Court, which is located in the Rancho San Diego community.
CHP Sgt. Mary Bailey stated that two vehicles collided at an intersection where one had a stop sign and the other had the right of way. The driver of both vehicles, as well as an unknown number of occupants, were all transported to a local hospital for treatment. Sgt. Bailey said some of them were considered to be in serious condition. The roadway was temporarily blocked for an investigation and cleanup efforts. It’s unknown whether citations are pending, but an inquiry is underway. We hope the injured victims make a swift recovery.
