San Diego, CA (November 19, 2024) – Several workers contracted by Caltrans were injured in a suspected DUI crash early Tuesday morning at an on-ramp to Interstate 805 near Chollas Creek, according to California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported just before 3:30 a.m. near the Market Street connector to northbound I-805, where the contractors were laying concrete for a Caltrans project.
The involved vehicle, a 2014 Ford Escape, had veered off the roadway as it was heading towards I-805, hitting three workers before striking a trailer that was stationary on the shoulder of the road, CHP said. That said, no further details were provided to the public in the interim, and officers asked any witnesses to get in touch. We hope for the rapid recovery of all the injured victims.
