San Diego, CA (December 23, 2024) – California Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after a man was arrested early Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence after reportedly driving the wrong way and crashing his car onto a sidewalk in San Diego’s Marina District.
Officers responded around 6:30 a.m. to the 600 block of West G Street after a witness reported seeing a car driving the wrong way, according to the San Diego Police Department. Police were also investigating how many pedestrians were potentially injured when he hit the sidewalk or whether he caused damage to other vehicles before the crash.
EMTs were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident took place, but the total number of victims involved is unknown. However, no further details were released in the meantime, and it’s still unclear how many were ultimately injured in the crash. Witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible.
