Los Angeles, CA (December 27, 2023) – On Wednesday morning, a fire destroyed a house in Los Angeles’s Boyle Heights area, killing one person and leaving two others in serious condition.
Just before 4:00 a.m. in the morning, fire officials responded to a call of a blaze at a single-family house with one floor on southbound Louis Street, close to Hollenbeck Park. The fire was ultimately put out about an hour later. Firefighters found that five individuals were inside the house when it caught fire, and one person was discovered deceased on the porch when authorities arrived. Two individuals were rescued and sent to the hospital in a serious condition. Two other people were discovered outside the house and were assessed for injuries at the scene. An inquiry into the fire’s cause is now underway.
