San Diego, CA (July 3, 2024) – A multi-vehicle collision claimed the lives of four individuals on Interstate 5, south of Las Pulgas Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol-Oceanside Area Office over the weekend.
The incident took place when a Jeep Wrangler, operated by a 29-year-old Virginia Beach man, strayed from its lane and crashed into a group of motorcyclists, according to a statement by the CHP. The three motorcyclists, all San Diego residents aged 40 and 37, died at the scene. The driver involved was also hospitalized, but he later died. A 50-year-old Los Angeles man, who was a passenger in the Jeep, remains in critical condition at a local medical center. No further information was immediately available, but an investigation is still ongoing at this time.
