San Diego, CA (November 25, 2024) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was killed on State Route 78 in Escondido Sunday evening, prompting road closures in the area.
Officers with CHP and paramedics responded to reports of a car and pedestrian collision at about 9:25 p.m. near Rock Springs Road and Centre City Parkway in Escondido. The crash happened near the interchange with Interstate 15, where overnight construction has recently occurred. That said, no further details were released, and authorities urged anyone with information regarding the accident to call the CHP as the investigation continues in the interim.
