San Diego, CA (July 17, 2025) – A 73-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized with a serious leg injury after a collision involving a vehicle in Point Loma Heights on Thursday, authorities said.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred in the 4500 block of Voltaire Street when a 67-year-old man came to a complete stop in the roadway before beginning to back into the driveway of his residence and struck the cyclist.
Authorities say the cyclist suffered an open leg fracture and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released. However, no further details were released in the meantime, and an investigation is still ongoing by the SDPD Traffic Division. Witnesses were asked to step forward as soon as possible.
