How Long Families Have to File a Wrongful Death Lawsuit in California
In California, families have two years from the date of death to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Eligible family members may include a spouse, domestic partner, or children of the person who died. In some cases, other dependents may also have the right to file a claim under California law.
