Palm Springs, CA (March 30, 2024) – Authorities on Thursday identified a person who died in a three-car collision near Indian Canyon Drive as a 28-year-old woman from Desert Hot Springs.
Alexa Labrecque was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, which occurred around noon at the intersection of Indian Canyon Drive and 20th Avenue in Palm Springs. The remaining three occupants of the same car were transported to a local hospital with significant injuries, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
The police department said Wednesday afternoon that its initial findings indicate one vehicle was traveling south on Indian Canyon Drive at a high rate of speed when it collided with two other vehicles, including the one Labrecque was in, as they slowed at the intersection. No further details were released in the meantime.
