Westminster, CA (October 30, 2023) – On Thursday, at 5:30 p.m., a hit-and-run accident happened near the junction of Vallecito Avenue and University Street, and the Westminster Police Department is now investigating the incident.
When the victim was crossing Vallecito Avenue at a crosswalk, a red car turned left from westbound Vallecito Avenue into southbound University Street without stopping. As she attempted to shield herself and her dog from the oncoming red car, the victim was struck.
The red car’s driver continued heading south on University without stopping. The victim was hospitalized but is expected to survive.
The suspect vehicle was described as an older, red, two-door car with a partially Massachusetts-issued license plate. However, an investigation is still ongoing at this time.
