San Diego, CA (December 1, 2024) – A 17-year-old male riding an e-bike was seriously injured Saturday after colliding with a vehicle in Bay Park, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the teen was riding an off-road Surron northbound in the 2600 block of Fairfield Street around 5:10 p.m. At that same time, a 41-year-old man was driving a 2001 Mercedes E320 southbound in the 2700 block of Fairfield Street.

The teen was ejected from the e-bike during the crash and sustained a cerebral air embolism, as well as multiple facial fractures. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, though his current condition is unknown. However, no further details were released in the meantime, and an investigation is still ongoing.
