Los Angeles, CA (September 12, 2023) – Authorities say seven people were hurt after a driver allegedly slammed into three vehicles in the Crenshaw District, forcing one other car to flip over in front of a house.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said that at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, fire personnel were sent to the 3600 block of South Potomac Avenue, close to Obama Boulevard, for a reported multiple-vehicle crash.
Authorities said no one sustained life-threatening injuries, though ambulances were on the scene to transport the victims to a local hospital.
The Los Angeles Police Department first reported that the incident occurred during a police chase but subsequently clarified that officers were only attempting to stop a reckless driving suspect.
The police added that the motorist fled the accident scene but was later apprehended. Authorities are continuing to investigate at this time.
