Garden Grove, CA – Two Killed After Vehicle Strikes Tree on Brookhurst St

Garden Grove, CA (April 18, 2026) – A driver and his passenger died on Saturday, April 18, after a vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree in Garden Grove.

The collision occurred around 2:45 a.m. in the 12900 block of Brookhurst Street, just north of Garden Grove Boulevard. Officials reported that the silver 2009 Chevrolet Silverado left the roadway and hit a tree for reasons that remain unknown.

Emergency units responded to the scene and located the Silverado against the tree. The 22-year-old driver was found trapped inside the truck. His 18-year-old passenger had been ejected from the vehicle.

Both victims were Westminster residents. Authorities pronounced them dead at the scene. No additional occupants were reported.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
