Santa Barbara, CA (September 12, 2023) – The Santa Barbara City Fire Department reports that just after midnight on Tuesday, six persons were injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara.
Fire Battalion Chief Michael Hoose stated that the three-car accident happened in the southbound lanes near the Carrillo Street off-ramp.
While first responders attended to the victims and cleared the scene, traffic on the highway was reduced to a single lane.
Two victims required extrication, and six people total were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in three AMR ambulances, according to Hoose. California Highway Patrol troopers are still looking into the crash at this time.
