Los Angeles, CA – Pedestrian Dies in Collision on 101 Fwy at Tampa Ave

Los Angeles, CA (September 5, 2024) – A deadly crash on the 101 Freeway in Woodland Hills impacted both southbound and northbound lanes for several hours Tuesday morning near Tampa Avenue.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on the freeway around 6:00 a.m. According to authorities, the victim has now been identified as 24-year-old Tianqi Wang. Initially, all lanes of traffic were blocked for about 15 minutes. As California Highway Patrol officers investigated the accident, two lanes were blocked off in both the northbound and southbound directions for around two hours.

Per the California Highway Patrol, all lanes of the 101 Freeway reopened around 10:30 a.m. However, the incident remains under inquiry in the interim.
