San Diego, CA (September 6, 2024) – Authorities said a multi-vehicle crash on San Diego’s northbound 805 freeway prompted a lane closure during the morning commute on Friday, September 6.
According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), the incident was first reported around 5:50 a.m., just north of the Adams Avenue exit in the Normal Heights area. At least five vehicles were seen lined along the far left lanes of traffic, and some of the vehicles had visible damage, per news footage from the site. A San Diego firetruck and CHP vehicles were also at the scene, blocking the far left lane during the response.
Those who were harmed by the crash were transported to area hospitals for further care and examination. No life-threatening injuries have been reported at this time, though the total number of victims hurt is unknown. However, an inquiry is still underway, and anyone who witnessed or has information about the crash is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol in San Diego. We hope the injured victims recover swiftly.
