Los Angeles, CA (October 16, 2024) – A pedestrian was struck and killed on the 101 Freeway in East Hollywood early Tuesday morning, causing an hours-long backup on the busy roadway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened on northbound lanes near the Vermont Avenue ramps at around 6:00 a.m. Officers arrived and found the victim, only identified as a man, dead at the scene. The ongoing investigation lasted for hours, closing two lanes as they looked into the circumstances surrounding the incident, but police did not say whether the driver was cited or arrested, and no other details were released in the interim. An investigation is still ongoing.
