San Diego, CA (October 29, 2024) – Authorities have publicly identified a 40-year-old construction worker who was killed over the weekend in an accident involving heavy machinery at a work site in the Bay Park neighborhood.
Cesar Abarca Carillo of San Diego was struck by an excavator at the construction site on Morena Boulevard near Littlefield Street at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the county medical examiner’s office.
Paramedics took the victim to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the agency reported. However, no further details were released in the meantime, as the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
