Los Angeles, CA (October 11, 2023) – An I-5 collision claimed the life of a 33-year-old motorcyclist over the weekend, as reported by the California Highway Patrol.
At approximately 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, near Grapevine and Fort Tejon Road, police received reports of a stopped pickup truck obstructing the number two lane of southbound I-5.
Two motorcyclists were seen heading south on I-5 in the same lane when one of the bikers hit the back of the pickup truck, causing both to be ejected.
A 33-year-old man from Fontana was declared deceased at the scene, while the other biker was rushed to the hospital.
According to CHP, neither impaired driving nor drug use had a role in this collision, though officers continue to investigate.
