Los Angeles, CA – Motorcyclist Dead in Collision on 5 Fwy at Griffith Park

Los Angeles, CA (December 21, 2024) – Several northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway were shut down in Los Angeles Saturday morning, December 21, after a deadly motorcycle crash.

The accident was reported at around 7:25 a.m. near Griffith Park. A Sigalert was issued around 7:45 a.m., shutting down three lanes. It was later lifted around 11:30 a.m., and all lanes were reopened.

The motorcycle driver was reportedly struck and died at the scene. It is unclear how many cars were involved, but five cars were on the right shoulder following the crash. The California Highway Patrol was on the scene, working to clear the roadway. Witnesses were asked to get in touch with area authorities if they had additional information in the interim.
