Los Angeles, CA (September 26, 2023) – After a dog attacked a man in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning, police shot and killed the dog.
An LAPD spokeswoman said the 65-year-old was attacked several times by the dog near the corner of Seventh Street and Gladys Avenue. The spokeswoman added that officers arrived at the location at 9:45 a.m. and that at least one of them fired their weapon.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the man was evaluated and treated for injuries by paramedics. Police and animal control officials from Los Angeles shut down the intersection to investigate in the meantime.
