Los Angeles, CA (January 3, 2024) – Just before midnight on Monday, a vehicle in the Jefferson Park area of South Los Angeles hit and killed a pedestrian. At about 11:30 p.m., patrol units from the Southwest Division of the Los Angeles Police Department were sent to the 2600 block of South Arlington Avenue in response to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian traffic incident. Police found a person lying in the roadway when they arrived.
Shortly thereafter, Los Angeles Fire Department officials declared the man dead at the scene. The case is being investigated by the South Traffic Division of the Los Angeles Police Department, and no further details about the suspect motorist or pending citations have been released.
