Los Angeles, CA (February 19, 2024) – A man who was killed in a deadly crash that occurred Sunday morning in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, south of Highway 14, has been identified by medical examiners. A California Highway Patrol report of the event states that Jose Magana Valencia, 41, of Los Angeles, was declared deceased at the site of the wreck.
Valencia’s 1977 Ford was reportedly disabled in the northbound lanes of the highway north of Balboa Boulevard by the responding cops. According to the CHP report, Valencia got out of his car and was hit by a 1998 Ford driven by a 36-year-old man from Inglewood. The driver of the Ford stopped, stayed at the site, and assisted the police. Officers are currently investigating the possibility that alcohol or drugs had a role in the death, but authorities are still seeking witnesses at this time.
