San Diego, CA (October 15, 2023) – On Saturday night, a pedestrian was killed after a car hit them on northbound Interstate 5 close to Old Town, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported to police at 8:30 p.m. and occurred between the Old Town Avenue off-ramp and the Moore Street on-ramp, according to CHP records.
The pedestrian’s death was officially confirmed upon arrival.
Even though no SigAlert was issued, traffic was impeded as they passed through the area. Caltrans reports that around 10:30 p.m., all lanes were again available to traffic. No further details were available, but an investigation is still active.
