Los Angeles, CA (April 25, 2024) – A bicyclist was killed in South Los Angeles when a collision ensued following a police pursuit on Wednesday, April 24.
Around 6:00 a.m., the collision occurred as LAPD officers began to pursue a suspect in a larceny at East 48th and Central Streets. While attempting to evade law enforcement, the suspect vehicle collided with a bicyclist who was riding in the vicinity of 45th Street and Hooper Avenue. Despite life-saving measures attempted by paramedics, the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended by officers. However, an investigation is still ongoing.
