San Diego, CA – Motorcyclist Injured in Crash on Camino De Rio

San Diego, CA (May 26, 2024) – The San Diego Police Department reported that on Friday, a collision involving a motorcyclist and a passenger vehicle occurred, causing a 19-year-old man to sustain major injuries in the Mission Valley East area.

According to a press release from SDPD, a 2023 Mazda CX-30 driven by a 46-year-old woman stopped in front of the man, riding a 2015 Honda PGM-FI motorbike on 1400 Camino De Rio South, just after 8:00 a.m.  Per the SDPD, the rider “had to stop abruptly and was ejected from the motorcycle.”

The man received treatment at a nearby hospital for several serious injuries, including an open fracture to his right ankle and lower leg, a fracture to his left lower leg, and a large gash on his left tarsal. Officers are looking into the circumstances preceding the crash and asking anybody with information to contact them.
