Long Beach, CA (November 16, 2023) – A traffic accident that took place in Long Beach on Monday, November 13th left one person dead, two injured, and a car split in half. Officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to the scene in the 1000th block of Pacific Coast Highway at about 5:50 p.m. when two vehicles collided.
The impact ejected one of the passengers, launching him through the entrance to a 7-Eleven several yards away. Officials from the Long Beach Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. The impact force was so immense that one of the vehicles was cleaved in two.
One driver was transported by paramedics to an area hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening. The other driver received medical treatment at the scene. Responding officers do not think driver impairment was a factor in the accident but have not ruled out speed.
