Chula Vista, CA (January 13, 2025) – A man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Monday, January 13, in Chula Vista, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 7:55 a.m. at the alley north of 517 H Street, between Fifth Avenue and Smith Avenue, said Sgt. Anthony Molina with the Chula Vista Police Department. When authorities responded to the scene, they found the pedestrian, a 59-year-old Chula Vista man, with major injuries, though he later died.
A Sig Alert was issued for several hours while police were at the scene. The incident is still being investigated, and it’s not known at this time whether drugs or alcohol were involved. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family of the deceased victim.
