Studio City, CA (April 17, 2024) – On Monday morning, an accident on the 101 Freeway in Studio City claimed the life of a recruit firefighter.
The collision was reported on the northbound lanes of Vineland Avenue at 5:15 a.m., and the victim was identified as 22-year-old Jacob Fuerte by the LAFD. Per authorities, he was exiting his vehicle to help another driver when a third motorist hit him and fled the scene. Despite the quick arrival of paramedics, Fuerte was pronounced deceased at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is conducting a hit-and-run investigation into the incident, and anyone with information should contact the CHP West Valley Office.
