San Diego, CA (September 30, 2023) – On Saturday, two cars collided in the Kearny Mesa Carl’s Jr. drive-thru queue, sending one person to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the San Diego Police Department.
At around 6:40 p.m., an accident in the 3800 block of Convoy Street was reported to local authorities. The driver of a northbound Toyota Tacoma on Kearny Mesa Road apparently lost control after hitting a curb, flew into the air, and crashed into a Honda Accord in front of a drive-thru window.
According to SDPD, the 23-year-old male Tacoma driver sustained serious injuries and was sent to a local hospital. Officers say that the Honda’s driver, a woman in her 40s, and two elderly passengers also suffered injuries in the collision.
San Diego Police Department traffic officers are still investigating but have not provided additional details in the interim.
