San Diego, CA – Two Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Sports Arena Blvd

San Diego, CA (July 31, 2024) – A traffic collision has left two men injured on Sports Arena Boulevard in San Diego.

According to the San Diego Police Department Watch Commander’s Log, the collision involved a pedestrian and a motorcyclist early Tuesday morning. Officers reported that a 54-year-old man was walking across the middle of the 4000 block on Sports Arena Boulevard when he was hit by a motorcyclist heading northbound.

The pedestrian, who sustained a fractured left femur, among other serious injuries, was rushed to the hospital, where his condition was initially deemed life-threatening but was later stabilized. The 41-year-old motorcyclist was found unconscious at the scene, and the extent of his injuries has not been detailed. Authorities have stated that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, but Traffic Division officers are now piecing together the cause of the accident and are calling for witnesses with information to step forward.
